Tengu - part2


WIP - Fleshed out tengu. I am working now on the other elements, like the feathers, knife and sandals. However, I want to keep as much of a flat look as possible for the textiles.

I had some scribbles lying around from the time I had the chance to see the work of Toriyama Sekien. I've been toying around with the idea of making an ukiyo-e stylised work, and then give it some extra brush work like the one in my previous post. So here's step one: an ukiyo-e style photoshop work about my version of a Tengu.

Cuneiform


So here's something of mine, with some neglect to proportion and balance. I've been looking at Egon Schiele's work and I got tempted to work with hands, fragile balance, distorted proportions and muscle structure. I did some work with outlines, but I rejected it in favour of more color and contrast.

Intruder!

Well, an unknown hairy monster the size of a pony with sharp teeth and long ears would scare you too! They've never seen anything like it.
Yet another sketch for the Underfolks project, not much about presition, just testing colors and putting the characters in a situation.

Now this is a sketch for 3 characters for the Underfolks project. Based on slapstick comedy and cartoon character shapes, mixed with swedish mythology, sporting fashionable danish baby clothes.

Say whaaaat?

"Who dares to disturb my slumber... party?"
After a couple of mean machine character concepts, I needed to pull the switch back to humor. This is an Ogre concept for an old game project called "The Undelfolks", which I've been working with some time ago. More of it coming any time soon. Combining Swedish mythology with some humor and testing some color reflection. Just a little sketch.
Just look at those hand-made, hand-killed, fluffy floppers!

Lion of Gomorra



This is a concept art piece called Lion of Gomorra. I found inspiration in the antique legend monsters, mostly antropomorphic creatures with "human body, animal head". Being the lion a simbol for divine force and judgement on earth, and Gomorra an antique city in the biblical text, that perished to the wrath of God. Like in Bezuntu, I placed the main character in the middleground, havin a scenery element in the foreground, so that the character merges better with the setting.

Bezuntu is a character concept image based on antique civilisations.
I looked for an interesting pose and a dramatic contrast of colors in the backgorund. I also wanted to use tribal painting, scarfication and copper-bronze rustic weapons.
